SHITALPUR HIGH SCHOOL

Traditional Vidyapeeth Shitalpur High School is an ancient educational institution of Sitakunda Upazila. Mr. Siraj Uddaula Chowdhury, the zamindar of Shitalpur area,  the famous personality of Sitakunda, established Shitalpur Lower Secondary School in 1941 on the 87th century land donated by late Abu Bakar Siddique and late Aminur Rahman's wife Ayesha Khatun of Shitalpur area. M. N.A. Mr. M R Siddiqui  of the then Pakistan Constituent Assembly laid the foundation stone of Shitalpur Lower Secondary School, the first academic building provided by the government in 1964. The school was recognized as a secondary school in 1975 by Comilla Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Since its inception, the school has maintained a steady streak of success with students achieving enviable success in the SSC examination with merit. The institution is playing an important role as a pioneer of education to spread the light of education in the area. 

The main building of the school has two floors. Apart from this, there are three buildings of one floor each. There is a three storied library building. Mr. Zahurul Alam (father late Saleh Ahmad, mother Laila Begum) Danveer, a swimming dealer in the area, worked on the three-storey duplex building with his own funds. Therefore, the building has been named 'Zahurul Alam Library Building' after his name. 

The process of bringing the school under modern and fully digital system is underway. Various facilities have been completed including rich science lab, library, multimedia classroom, biometric attendance, dynamic website. By creating a natural beauty environment, a supportive space for students' mindfulness has been developed.

At present there are more than nine hundred students with 18 teachers, five staff members. It has various co-curricular activities including co-education facilities. The Head Teacher of the school is Mr. Abul Kalam Azad and Assistant Headmaster (Acting) is Mr. Md. Ismail Shaikh.
